Horticultural perlite is a white granular material made from perlite ore that is preheated and instantly roasted at high temperature to expand. Its principle is that the perlite ore is crushed to form a certain particle size of ore. After preheating and roasting, it is rapidly heated (above 1000°C), and the water in the ore vaporizes. It expands inside the softened glass containing ore, forming a porous structure and expanding volume by 10 to 30 times as a non-metallic mineral product.
Horticultural perlite is produced by screening and separating high-quality perlite mineral sand, with particles up to 3-7 mm. The interior of its particles is a honeycomb-like structure, odorless, non-corrosive, non-flammable, and acid and alkali resistant. It is used in agriculture, gardens, and flowers, with good fertility, water retention, sterility, and breathability.
Product Features:
When saturated with water, the weight ranges from 450-600 kg/m3 (usually around 1800 kg/m3 in soil), effectively solving the load problem of building structures.
The permeability coefficient is 200mm/hr, which can effectively avoid the harm of sedimentation.
The effective moisture content is as high as 45%, which can effectively intercept rainwater.
Inorganic cultivation substrate, stable physical and chemical indicators, and long-term cultivation of plants without the need for soil replacement.
The porosity of the product greatly promotes the growth and development of the virtual root system of plants, has a good fixation effect on trees, and overcomes the damage of tree main roots to building structures.
Clean and odorless, easy to construct, and convenient for maintenance.
Application Scope:
It can be widely used for urban greening, horticultural nurseries, lawn construction, tree transplanting, roof gardens, underground parking lots, ecological roads and bridges, sunlight halls, courtyard potted plants, sports fields, and saline alkali land improvement.
