Thermal Insulation, Sound Absorption, and Adsorption

Expanded Perlite Introduction:

Expanded perlite is a high-quality white or light colored thermal insulation material made from acidic volcanic glassy lava (perlite) that is crushed, sieved to a certain particle size, preheated, and delayed sintered at high temperatures above 1200 ℃. The internal structure of its particles is honeycomb like, non corrosive, non flammable, acid resistant, and alkali resistant. Products with different properties can be made using different adhesives, characterized by light bulk density, good insulation and sound absorption properties, and adsorption capacity.

Production process of Expanded Perlite:

(1) The ore extracted from the mine is processed into sand with a certain particle size grading through mechanical crushing and vibrating screening, and the expansion plant selects and purchases it according to different purposes.

(2) Preheating: Depending on the origin and particle size, the moisture content of perlite ore sand will reach the expansion requirement after preheating for 2-8 minutes at a temperature of 650-800 ℃

(3) Expansion: After preheating, the ore sand is evenly sprayed onto a flame with a temperature maintained at 1100-1200 ℃ through a feeding device. The ore sand will be rapidly heated and expand to 10-30 times its original volume. The expanded perlite particles will be white or light gray, with a honeycomb like structure inside, and a loose density of generally 40-80Kg/m3

(4) The expanded perlite enters the collection bin after being separated by the cyclone separator with high-temperature gas, and the high-temperature gas containing a small amount of fine dust is discharged into the atmosphere after being removed by the bag type dust removal device.

Application Field of Expanded Perlite:

*Architecture: insulation of building roofs and walls; Lightweight aggregates for building materials;

*Industry: Adhesive pressed hydrophobic perlite insulation board, perlite sound-absorbing board, perlite partition board, perlite fireproof board, etc;

*Temperature Insulation: deep cooling, low-temperature engineering insulation, industrial equipment, pipeline insulation, etc;

*Agriculture and horticulture: used for agriculture, horticulture, soil improvement, water and fertilizer conservation;

*Other: filter aids, fillers, grinding materials, slag collection materials for steelmaking processes, etc.
