Application of Perlite Filter Aid in Maltodextrin

Maltodextrin, also known as enzymatic dextrin or water-soluble dextrin, is a novel sweetness, low-calorie, and high-nutritional food raw material that uses starch or starch-based agricultural products such as corn and potatoes as raw materials and undergoes low-degree conversion by amylase. It is a pure carbon hydrate compoud between starch and sugar, with a glucose value (DE value) below 20 and only contains a large amount of polysaccharides? There are three production processes for   maltodextrin: acid method, acid enzyme method, and enzyme method. The acid method is difficult to filter, and the solubility of the product is poor. The acid enzyme method has a good effect, but it is not suitable for directly using starch-based raw materials (such as corn and potatoes). The enzyme method process is the most   suitable.

The production process is as follows: starch → sizing → first liquefaction → high temperature inactivation→second liquefaction→inactication and decolorization-filtration → ion exchange→ concentration → spray drying → product.

Perlite filter aids mainly in filtering the ash powder and protein in maltodextrin.

Filtering method: Directly add the filter aid into the tank, with a dosage of 0.5-0.8%. Stir for 20 minutes before entering the filter machine; Pre-coating addition method, the pre-coating amount is usually 07-1kg/㎡, with a thickness of 2-3mm, and a pre-coating concentration of 8-12% . After the reflux liquid is clear, deep filtration is carried out to continuously transport the mixture of liquid and perlite filter aid to the filter machine for filtration.   The additional amount is 0.5-0.8% of   the dissolved weight of water.

After filtration, a light yellow transparent liquid is obtained and decolorized with activated carbon. The practice has shown that our company's products can meet   the quality requirements of dextrin without any impact on the quality of acid, alkali, or neutral enzyme preparations.
