Natural perlite is a dense gray to brown glassy volcanic lava, mainly composed of molten sodium potassium aluminum silicate and 3% to 5% water.

After expansion, it is a brittle white non hygroscopic powder with a lightweight, a capacity of 0.032~0.112g/mL, a relative density of 2.2~2.3, and a particle size of 1 μ M to hundreds of micrometers. Hardly soluble in water, slightly soluble in dilute acids and alkalis. The softening temperature is between 870 and 1100 ℃. The melting temperature is 260-1350℃.

Main ingredients:

SiO2 71% -75%, A12O3 12% -18%, K2O 4% -5%, CaO 0.2% -2%, Fe2O3 0.5% -1.5%, in addition to MgO, TiO2, MnO, etc.

Properties:

Perlite's inherent properties of being lightweight, insulating, fireproof, and sterile make it suitable for a variety of applications in industry, horticulture, filtration, construction, and insulation.

Application according to perlite size:

(1) 8~12 mesh, 12~18 mesh, and 18~20 mesh pearl sand can be used for insulation after expansion, and insulation materials are used in the construction field;

(2) 20~50, 30~50 mesh pearl sand can be used as a covering agent, slag remover, or vitrified micro-beads for steel casting after expansion Insulation materials;

(3) After being expanded, 50~70 mesh pearl sand can be used as a filter agent for beer, medicine and insulation for the low temperature storage tank of Oxygen concentrator.
