Perlite Microsphere Introduction:

The Perlite microspheres are gray-white and have a thin, hollow wall with a smooth surface closure, which gives them a semi-transparent glass body when viewed under a microscope. They are incredibly lightweight, with a density of 720kg/m3 (heavy) and 418.8kg/m3 (light), and have a particle size of around 0.1mm. Pearlite floating beads are also highly fire-resistant, with a thermal conductivity that is small but effective.

These microspheres are widely used in the production of lightweight castables and oil drilling, due to their excellent insulation and refractory properties. However, with the increasing emphasis on environmental protection, traditional fly ash have become more expensive. That's where artificial Perlite microsphere come in. They have greatly reduced the cost of production, making construction more efficient and cost-effective.

The chemical composition of the perlite microsphere is mainly made up of silicon dioxide and aluminum oxide. They have a variety of functions, including fine particle size, lightweight, high-strength, wear-resistant, high-temperature resistance, insulation, and flame retardancy. Due to their many benefits, they are now widely used as raw materials for refractory materials.

Specification of Perlite Microspheres:

20 mesh, 30 mesh, 40 mesh, 50 mesh, 60 mesh, 80 mesh, 100 mesh, 150 mesh, 200 mesh, can be processed according to customer requirements.

Characteristics of Perlite Microspheres:

1. High Fire Resistance: perlite microspheres are composed of oxides of silicon and aluminum. Silicon dioxide accounts for about 50-65% while aluminum trioxide accounts for about 25-35%. The melting point of silicon dioxide is as high as 1725 degrees Celsius, and the melting point of aluminum oxide is 2050 degrees Celsius, which makes both of them high refractory substances. As a result, floating beads can withstand temperatures as high as 1600-1700 degrees Celsius, making them excellent high-performance refractory materials.

2. Lightweight,insulated and insulated:

Perlite microspheres are very thin and hollow, with a semi-vacuum inside the cavity, and only a small amount of gas such as N2, H2, CO2, etc. This unique structure results in very slow and minimal heat conduction. The beads are also incredibly lightweight, with a unit weight of 250-450 kilograms/. Additionally, they have a thermal conductivity

of 0.08-0.1 at room temperature, making them an excellent choice for lightweight insulation materials. It will become the potential applications for this innovative material in the future!

3. High hardness and strength: Due to the fact that perlite microspheres are hard glass bodies formed from silicon aluminum oxide mineral phases (quartz and mullite), with a hardness of up to Mohs 6-7, a static pressure strength of up to 70-140MPa, and a true density of 2.10-2.20g/c, floating beads have high strength.

4. Insulation is not conductive: The resistance of general insulators decreases with increasing temperature, while the resistance of perlite microsphere increases with increasing temperature. This advantage is not possessed by other insulation materials. So it can be made into insulation materials with excellent performance

5. Fine particle size and large specific surface area: The natural particle size of perlite microsphere is 1-250 microns. The specific surface area is 300-360g/cm2, which is similar to cement. Therefore, they do not require grinding and can be used directly. Fineness can meet the needs of various products.
